Oat Cosmetics have announced the results of a independent study on their high performance Oat COM Colloidal Oatmeal. The study of the 46 participants used a single application and the benefits were recorded over 24 hours.. The trial demonstrated very positive results for skin feel, lack of greasiness and increased moisturisation. The study will now be extended for a further 90 days to assess the longer term consumer benefits of Oat COM.
The results showed that over 93% of the respondents agreed that the product absorbed in the skin easily either ‘ well’ or ‘very well’. 98% agreed that the product left their skin feeling soft after use and 98% ‘strongly disagreed’ or ‘disagreed’ that the product gave the skin a greasy feeling.
OAT COM is produced using a patent-applied-for process which allows the colloidal oatmeal to absorb 10% more water and oil than other oat flours as well as enhancing the availability of the oat beta-glucan, as known moisturiser.
Ed Galley of Ed Galley Associates commented “The long term moisturisation responses are very positive. The moisturisation data is better than expected from a single application. The skin feel, greasiness control and creaminess data is also significant. These results added to previous data strongly indicate the ability of Oat COM to improve skin feel and reduce greasiness in formulations.”
Oat Cosmetics are releasing the results ahead of attending In Cosmetics in Paris next week and will have the full report available on the stand J141. They will also be releasing two new exciting grades of Oat COM at the show.
